Ko-fi: Want to Support Me?

In addition to being able to purchase the EP Songs for The Night Field on Bandcamp.com, I have signed up on Ko-fi, a new way for people to act as “patrons of the arts” through one-time or scheduled monthly “tips.” I will eventually be putting up a subscriber portion on my Ko-fi site, which will have special downloads and other items for supporters. The podcast Vita COLITUR will also be able to be supported through there or simply through PayPal, if desired. (PayPal: @LynnMRosser)

Why am I even doing this? Well, it wasn’t easy to sign up for it. I’m not the kind of person that generally likes what could be perceived as “hand outs!” I’m more of a value-added type person, who has a hard time not giving everything away for free.

Still, with the way that streaming platforms work now, and the digital age in general removing the product purchasing aspect of making music (other than ticket sales and swag), as well as podcasting, which is in the same boat, I decided to try to make a donation/subscriber/swag store with the goal of keeping that value-added approach in place. I want my supporters to feel like they are getting an amazing deal by supporting me, and never ever ever donating to ‘artist charity.’
