Premiere: Songs for The Night Field soft-launch on Bandcamp

Songs for The Night Field pre-launch on Bandcamp.com happened July 31, 2023, putting the six-song EP out just in time for me to begin touring with the author of The Night Field, Donna Glee Williams, to present a unique combination of readings, writerly experiences of how the novel came to be, and my music. The EP carries an emotional arc of the story, without revealing too much detail about the plot. It was created with Donna Glee’s insights into themes and, to me, really feels like a companion work to the book that can still stand on its own.

This is my first solo EP, and I was very excited to get to co-produce it. Though this is my first, I have sung on countless indie projects and with my husband, Chris Rosser, of Hollow Reed Arts Studio, the world-fusion instrumental duo, Free Planet Radio, and who is a brilliant singer-songwriter, prolific indie producer and multi-instrumentalist. Chris led the recording and production of Songs for The Night Field, putting in his signature hints of world-fusion via the Indian Dotar and completing my musical vision.

Donna Glee and I launched the dual readings-and-music mini-book tour up in Sylva, NC at City Lights Bookstore on July 31, 2023. We have more dates up ahead and are looking forward to seeing how we can stretch and adapt the book-and-music aspect to reach more people for both our projects. I am very honored to work with her, and am very happy for the amazing reviews the book is starting to get.
